This bay laurel wall hook rack is made from a salvaged piece of wood from Arbor Upcycle. John used the natural shape and figure of the wood to design this piece. This wall hook rack now hangs proudly in our front entryway - full of jackets, purses, dog leashes, and umbrellas.
One of John’s first projects during COVID-19. This shoe bench originally sat without legs for several months. To this day, it is the perfect entryway bench to hold backpacks, sit on when putting on shoes, and of course, store shoes.
John makes a dozen of these cutting boards every quarter as gifts. Typically made of strips of white oak, purple heart, walnut, and maple, these cutting boards are the perfect display for cheese & charcuterie and bread.
When I first started making pottery, I made a lot of ‘ash trays’, as we call these slightly small, somewhat round, and not quite tall enough cylinders :-) I’ve turned a lot of these dishes into decor pieces/ vessels to hold things on coffee tables. This one is the perfect dish for some bright, happy air plants.
My second go at a lidded jar. The underglaze design with the paw print + lettering didn’t quite turn out as planned, but I loved the contrast of the white glazed outer with the inner turquoise color. The perfect size for storing dog treats for Taro :3
John loves the smell of working with cedar wood. He made these matching adirondack chairs for a friend who recently purchased a home. He made several test chairs in pine to nail the height and angle of the chair before making these out of cedar.
Aileen made these on a whim out of gold and bronze/nickel-brushed metal wire. She recently discovered crafting with metal wire after using it at her floral design class. This circular design holds delicate air plants perfectly with natural twine keeping the holder free to dangle and sway.
Aileen loves dried eucalyptus. Paired with a wide, stout, and round white ceramic vase, this piece of decor sits perfectly on any coffee table or shelf.
Aileen is a plant-lover and has been propagating a lot of plants at home. This propagated pothos plant fits perfectly with the wavy design of this turquoise planter.
John made this beautiful slatted low outdoor sofa, inspired by the clean lines of outdoor furniture that we saw at retailers. The height of this outdoor sofa is perfect to pair with a coffee table of low side table.
We wanted a small seated dining table for our apartment in 2021. John built this mid-century modern table out of cherry wood in just one weekend. Inspired by seiza-style Japanese dining, we finished the seating area with comfy linen zabutons (floor cushions) from Half Moon. Since the initial concept, we have used this table as a dining table, coffee table, outdoor table, and work space. Cherry wood Mortise and tenon joinery
